Pan Amsterdam 2026: Amsterdam

1 - 8 Novembre 2026
Présentation

For its debut at PAN Amsterdam 2026, SEPT presents The Collected Room, a curated group exhibition bringing contemporary art and collectible design together in an intimate, carefully composed setting.

Drawing inspiration from Constantin Brancusi's Paris studio in the early twentieth century, the presentation reimagines the traditional art fair booth as a lived-in interior, where artworks and design objects coexist naturally. The space unfolds through an interplay of materials, textures, colours and forms, revealing unexpected connections between the works.

At the heart of The Collected Room stands Desert Pupil, the newest sculptural series by Zheng Lu. Crafted from polished stainless steel, these reflective forms transform their surroundings into an ever-changing composition of light, movement and perspective, blurring the boundaries between sculpture, architecture and the viewer's own reflection.

Bringing together Sebastiaan Knot, Zheng Lu, Daniel Mirchev, Laurine Malengreau and Romain Paris Garnault, the exhibition celebrates the diversity of contemporary artistic practices. The optical compositions of Sebastiaan Knot interact with the sculptural presence of Daniel Mirchev, while the organic qualities of Romain Paris Garnault's wooden creations contrast with the polished steel of Zheng Lu. Each artist contributes a distinct visual language to a harmonious collective composition.

Deep burgundy walls, pale surfaces and contrasts of scale reinforce the atmosphere of a contemporary living space. The works become part of a shared environment, revealing new relationships as visitors move through the room.

With The Collected Room, SEPT explores a more personal approach to exhibiting and collecting art, where contemporary artworks and collectible design become integral elements of everyday spaces.
