JOANA SCHNEIDER

Biography

Joana Schneider creates immersive installations and sculptural worlds that weave together nature, fiction, and the human experience. Her work reflects on our relationship with the natural world, the body, and the lasting influence of childhood on perceptions of beauty and youth.

Combining a love for textile craft with Dutch artisanal traditions, Schneider works with techniques such as embroidery, passementerie, tapestry, and traditional net-making methods from the fishing industry. Her pieces engage multiple senses — sight, touch, and even scent — inviting viewers into a rich sensory dialogue.

Her work has been featured internationally at VOLTA Basel, PAD Paris and London, PULSE Miami, Enter Art Fair Copenhagen, Masterly Milano, Fite Textile Biennale, and the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam. She has exhibited with König Galerie in Munich and held a solo show at the Groninger Museum. She is represented by Rademakers Gallery in the Netherlands and Denmark.
