Exploring Artistic Horizons: Galerie Sept's Journey and Vision
We are thrilled to announce the extension of Galerie Sept Brussels' "Dialogues in Abstraction" exhibition until February 4th. From its inception, this exhibition, centering on artists who skillfully navigate through abstract art, has garnered acclaim from both collectors and the general public.
Our heartfelt thanks go out to all the artists contributing to this remarkable show.
If you haven't had the chance to visit yet, we warmly invite you to experience this captivating exhibition.
"Dialogues in Abstraction" celebrates each artist's dedication to their craft, highlighting their efforts to harmoniously balance elements of abstract art. The exhibition pays tribute to the diverse influences shaping these artists' visions, exploring common themes such as environmental awareness, the subtleties of artistic gestures, and the depth of personal expression.
Since 2018, Galerie Sept has been unveiling a remarkable eclectic collection of esteemed artists who define the contemporary art scene, between Brussels and Knokke.

L'Eventail – How have galleries been doing in the past two years and how have you seen them evolve?
Florian Araïb – Very well, the evolution is positive. The gallery in Knokke has evolved nicely and in Brussels, we are on a new dynamic, with a new identity. We are growing alongside our artists, and an abstract evolution is taking shape in Brussels. Galerie Sept Knokke is celebrating its second anniversary this year, and Brussels its sixth. I recognize this as a great achievement. I might have been naive when opening the first gallery in Brussels at twenty-three, but it has reached a scale I did not expect. I am proud to collaborate with Eliane Miatton in Knokke and Camille Khalaf in Brussels. Galerie Sept is what it is thanks to our clients and collaborators, and I hope it continues to grow.

What have you learned over the past two years?
– I've learned that the Knokke market and the Brussels market share similarities despite having different ways of exhibiting. In Knokke, we display large sculptures thanks to our spaces and collaboration with the city. In Brussels, the clientele is diverse due to the city's capital status. Interacting with clients from all over the world is extraordinary, and I thank them because it is thanks to them that Galerie Sept is what it is.

Can you tell us about the artists you are currently representing?
– All our artists are important, but today, I would like to highlight two of them. Katrin Fridriks, an Icelandic artist, is part of our exhibition in Brussels, Dialogues in Abstraction. Her works are a burst of sincere painting. What particularly moves me are her movements, her colors, and her sensitivity.
I also want to talk about Lee Hyun Joung, the second artist I collaborated with six years ago. I think without her, we wouldn't be where we are today. She came by bus, from her Paris studio, to bring us her works. According to her, we discovered her, and her words mean a lot to me. We do everything to promote her in Belgium, Asia, and the United States. She is now present in many collections, from the public to major collectors. Hyun Joung will be exhibited in our galleries, in Brussels and Knokke, as long as we have paintings, playing a crucial role in the gallery's history, and I am happy and proud that she is part of this beautiful story.

– What are your plans for the future?
– At twenty-nine years old, I still have a lot to achieve. With two galleries in Belgium, the idea of developing a gallery abroad and having access to new artists appeals to me. I am confident that the Galerie Sept project is mature enough to be developed internationally. I will be happy to share more details as soon as we have something concrete.
