A practice rooted in the choreography of light, where colour and geometry become tools for reshaping spatial perception.
REDEFINING SPACE THROUGH LIGHT AND DIMENSION
Knot is exploring the relationship between light, color, and spatial perception. Rooted in photography, his work transforms simple studio constructions illuminated with colored light into luminous geometric compositions that blur the boundary between image, object, and architectural space. Knot has exhibited internationally, including the exhibition Vasarely Legacy at the Fondation Vasarely in France, and has participated in major art fairs such as Art Miami, EXPO Chicago, MIA Photo Fair Milan, and Unseen Amsterdam. His work is held in public and private collections, including Maasstad Hospital Rotterdam and Fontainebleau Las Vegas.

"My work is a dialogue between light and space. I act as the moderator and determine where the light enters that space."
Sebastiaan Knot works with light as a primary material, constructing geometric compositions by illuminating simple forms with precisely controlled colored light. Captured through photography and translated into prints, sculptural reliefs, and installations, his works explore the interaction between color, light, and spatial perception.
