Matter in transformation — a surface in perpetual becoming.
With Living Surface, Juliette Clovis develops a practice where material is in constant transformation. Rooted in porcelain yet extended beyond its traditional framework, her work unfolds through processes of accumulation, fragmentation, and recomposition. Each surface becomes a living field — shaped by time, gesture, and the tension between control and release. Drawing on notions of cycle, balance, and metamorphosis, Clovis creates works that oscillate between rigidity and fluidity, mineral structure and organic movement. Through subtle variations in texture, light, and rhythm, Living Surface reveals a sensitive equilibrium — where matter appears to shift, evolve, and breathe.
