At the edge of control lies creation — where instinct meets precision, and movement becomes a language of its own.
Edge of Control brings together Kostas Papakostas and Kwang Bum Jang, two artists whose approaches to abstraction converge around one essential question — where does control end, and where does creation begin?
Based in London, Kostas Papakostas paints from a place of physical intuition. Working directly on the ground, he transforms the act of painting into choreography — a dialogue between the body and the canvas. Each movement is spontaneous yet deliberate, guided by rhythm and emotion rather than premeditation. His works, layered in acrylic and pastel, pulse with energy; every stroke captures the tension between impulse and balance, chaos and composition. There are no corrections, no rehearsals — only the trace of a lived moment.
Kwang Bum Jang, on the other hand, pursues an opposite path that leads to the same destination. His process is contemplative, rooted in repetition and quiet precision. Using layers of texture and subtle variations in tone, he builds meditative compositions that evoke the silent strength of natural elements.
Together, their practices embody two poles of the same spectrum — control and release. Edge of Control invites the viewer to step into this fragile boundary where discipline meets instinct, where stillness turns to movement, and where the act of letting go becomes the very essence of creation.
